24-08-2017

With a handshake of cooperation, NIRAS and New Power Partners (NPP) will gather competences in offshore wind development and construction to provide larger offshore package solutions.

NIRAS and New Power Partners have agreed a memorandum of understanding to offer shared services related to development, engineering and project execution expertise to the offshore wind community. The combined experience of the two companies creates a unique knowledge and expertise hub. Clients wishing to develop and construct offshore wind farms now have a unique combination of first class engineering expertise combined with first-class hands-on experience from management of EPCI processes that can ensure the successful development.

NPP says: “Offshore wind is really becoming global and several new markets are rapidly emerging. In order to stay agile and responsive to new and current customers, we believe partnerships and network cooperation are the way forward. Therefore, we are delighted to join forces with NIRAS who have a strong engineering expertise and who are already present on the expanding markets. We believe that a great contributor to a successful project has the experience and insight to challenge the conventions and apply new power and creativity to existing processes and methods. This was how we contributed on the Veja Mate project which is being completed presently – accelerating the completion by 4 months and greatly increasing customer value.”

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed based on common interest in the new expanding offshore markets. We understand and support the requirements for local content which means that we aim to recruit and attract local and skilled employees that will work in collaboration with our dedicated specialists to ensure that we also have experienced offshore wind professionals for the next generation.

Tore Lucht, Head of Department Offshore Wind, Marine Construction & Geotechnics
says: “NIRAS has strong experience and expertise within offshore wind engineering and design disciplines as well as marine construction and support. We have experienced New Power Partners’ strong skills and commitment first-hand towards project development and execution, and we believe this cooperation will offer new clients the best of both worlds; design and engineering services and management and execution consultancy.”

In addition to the direct services for offshore wind farm developers and owners, NIRAS and NPP also join forces on secondary tasks like complete solutions for site setups. In this setup, NPP provides logistical, camp and project management services supported by experienced and detailed engineering services which are among the key services for NIRAS to provide.

Now the sails are set and the new expertise hub aims to be working on several opportunities together with the goal that already 2017 will become prosperous for the collaboration.
